Hi, I’m Kristi Kautz—the designer and ceramicist behind Mojave Lu. I split my time between crafting photorealistic 3D renderings for interiors and making handmade ceramics in my high desert studio.
Some days I’m refining digital models pixel by pixel. Other days I’m pulling clay out of my hair. Whether I’m at the screen or at the wheel, I’m always thinking about how things live in a space—how they feel, function, and shape the atmosphere around them.
With a foot in both the digital and physical sides of design, my work naturally overlaps with the world of interiors—especially when it comes to lighting, planters, and sculptural decor. It’s a seamless extension of the way I think about space and form, and a direction that continues to shape my creative practice.
Over the years, I’ve renovated homes and designed spaces meant to be lived in, shared, and remembered—both for myself and for guests. That background shapes how I design: with an eye for flow, a love of problem-solving, and a focus on pieces that make daily life easier and more enjoyable.
